What kinds of events typically take place in this venue?

The Geraghty was intentionally designed to easily accommodate a wide range of events from social to corporate, from weddings and mitzvahs to galas.

How do things change across this wide variety of event types?

The aesthetic for each event is unique and customized to meet each client’s specific vision or goals. While the inspiration for a wedding might be born of a cherished memory or heirloom, a corporate event might use its brand’s DNA as a launchpad for event décor.

What are your favorite types of events to host?

Our favorite events are those that challenge us with a unique mission, and compel us to truly think outside the box. It’s these moments that allow us to flex our creative muscles and deliver a singularly compelling experience.

What are some of your favorite spots in Pilsen (where The Geraghty is located)?

Some favorite spots in Pilsen include all of the artist studios and lofts along 18th Street, which have folks flocking to the neighborhood for the monthly Art Walk. This is where folks can get a sense for all of the burgeoning creative talent in the neighborhood.

An anchor of the neighborhood is the National Museum of Mexican Art, which celebrates the work of Mexican artists from both sides of the border. This renowned institution offers a robust schedule of exhibits throughout the year, along with lots of workshops and performances the whole family can enjoy. Another unique feature of Pilsen are the numerous outdoor murals that convey specific themes and messages via their bold and colorful composition.

And while in the neighborhood, folks should sample some of the authentic Mexican cuisine available at many of the local restaurants. Insider tip: Visit Nuevo Leon Bakery on 18th street to get a sense for the variety of pastries they’re known for, and stop into Café Jumping Bean. The café is a popular enclave for artists living in the neighborhood – known for its coffee, as well as its ambiance.

What’s your favorite thing about Pilsen?

All the authentic culture that’s palpable at every touch point. The sights and sounds of Pilsen provide a glimpse into the rich and robust Mexican culture which has been predominant in the community, but is now being slowly infused by the influence of artists and entrepreneurs now calling the neighborhood home as well.

What’s your favorite feature of the space at The Geraghty?

The Geraghty was custom built to anticipate every possible need for best-in-class event execution, so as to intuitively and proactively deliver on guest’s wants and needs. It’s these built-in features, along with trademark, upscale residential appointments that instill a sense of pride in The Geraghty.

What’s the inspiration behind the name, “The Geraghty”?

The Geraghty was named in honor of Tom Kehoe’s mother. Mickey Geraghty was her maiden name. She was known as the consummate host, and this is his way of paying homage to her and her legacy.

What’s the easiest way to get to The Geraghty?

We’re less than 5 miles from the Loop, at the first stop after the 90/94 exchange. The Damen exit has its own lane!

What else should people know about The Geraghty?

The size and scale of The Geraghty, and the property it sits on are most accommodating. The venue was designed to deliver unobstructed sight lines – making it ideal for vehicle displays and accommodating larger equipment, such as food trucks. The ample parking lots offer fabulous city views, making it great for any tented experience.

What’s the nicest thing someone has said about The Geraghty?

“We have booked our event here two years in a row, and your team was able to deliver two entirely different guest experiences in the same space. Every aspect of the venue allowed for this to happen, and we couldn’t be more pleased!”

What’s The Geraghty’s typical availability for events throughout the year?

Typically, we book 6-8 months out. However, there are still some prime dates available for 2017.
