Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New year. It is celebrated for two days, beginning in the Hebrew month of Tishrei. This year (2023), Rosh Hashanah will start the evening of Friday, September 15 and will end at sundown Sunday, September 17. Customs associated with the holiday include sounding the shofar, eating a round challah, and tasting apples and honey to represent a "Sweet New Year."

Rosh Hashanah reflects both happiness and humility, and emphasizes the special relationship between G-d and humanity. During this holiday, it is custom to extend wishes and blessings between one another for a good year. To help ensure a joyous celebration, Catering by Michaels delivers throughout the Chicago area, including Highland Park, Northbrook, Glencoe, Winnetka, Skokie, Buffalo Grove, and Libertyville.
