Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New year. It is celebrated for two days, beginning in the Hebrew month of Tishrei. This year (2017), Rosh Hashanah will start the evening of September 20 and will end the evening of September 22. Customs associated with the holiday include sounding the shofar, eating a round challah, and tasting apples and honey to represent a "Sweet New Year."

Rosh Hashanah reflects both happiness and humility, and emphasizes the special relationship between G-d and humanity. During this holiday, it is custom to extend wishes and blessings between one another for a good year. To help ensure a joyous celebration, Catering by Michaels delivers throughout the Chicago area, including Highland Park, Glencoe, Winnetka, Long Grove, and Libertyville.
